Let This Grieving Soul Retire! Part 2 Ep. 4: Arnold's Blunders & The Brief Beauty of "Super Tino"

Episode 4 of the second cour of Let This Grieving Soul Retire! (or Nageki no Bourei wa Intai Shitai) once again delivers its signature blend of action, fantasy, and the comical miscommunication that defines the series. Instead of achieving the quiet life Krai Andrey yearns for, this episode is packed with events that further solidify his reputation as the "Unexpected Hero."

The Most Comical Encounter: Krai vs. Arnold!

One of the most side-splitting moments in this episode is the hilarious meeting between Krai and Arnold a dedicated Hunter who perpetually becomes the accidental victim of Krai's perceived (but non-existent) genius.
Krai, who is constantly panicking and trying to avoid the spotlight and danger, behaves erratically. Naturally, those around him, especially Arnold, misunderstand everything completely. Every action Krai takes to dodge trouble is immediately interpreted as a high-level strategy or a grueling training exercise that must be emulated.

Comedy Highlight:

Arnold and his group view a confused or panicked Krai as an ingenious mastermind conducting a "mad trial." The scene repeatedly draws laughs because Arnold willingly accepts suffering for the sake of a "lesson" from Krai, who only wants to retire. This never-ending cycle of miscommunication is the comedic heart of the series.

The Stunning but Too-Brief Flash of "Super Tino"

This episode also showcases a long-awaited moment: the temporary power-up and transformation of Tino Shade into "Super Tino." Tino, Liz's apprentice and Krai's dedicated admirer, gains incredible power from one of Krai's (unintentionally) cursed relics.
Tino's appearance in her "Super" form is truly captivating beautiful, powerful, and ridiculously over-the-top with a funny Magical Girl flair. Her transformation sequence provides a striking visual highlight, promising an epic showdown
However, as noted, the actual epic moment feels incredibly fleeting.

Disappointingly....

the true fight or full showcase of "Super Tino's" power is severely lacking and is largely 'off-screened' or over too quickly. This leaves viewers who were anticipating the full potential of Tino's new form feeling let down. The speculation that the studio prioritizes the comedic premise over high-quality action seems validated here, with the focus remaining heavily on situational comedy rather than intense combat choreography.

The Zenith of Misunderstanding: Level 8 Vault vs. Hot Spring Resort

The most hilarious and defining plot point of this episode is the incredible juxtaposition of Krai's and Arnold's fates. Krai, determined to escape the troublesome Hunter conference, decides to flee to a luxurious hot spring (onsen) in a quiet mountain town, hoping to relax and forget the world of Hunters entirely.

Meanwhile, back in the Capital, an epic misunderstanding unfolds involving Arnold the Hunter who consistently views Krai as a tactical genius.

Arnold and his group, completely misinterpreting Krai's frantic "escape" plan, believe that Krai is undergoing a "Thousand Trials" by entering a deadly Level 8 Treasure Vault (like the Night Palace or a similar high-risk dungeon). Arnold, wanting to emulate and surpass his perceived master's "rigorous training," consequently decides to lock himself inside the dangerous Vault as an act of extreme self-improvement!
